Jednostavan titracioni test za određivanje ukupne tvrdoće vode (kalcijumova i magnezijumova tvrdoća, doprinos ostalih 2+ jona je uglavnom zanemariv). U 5ml uzorka vode iz akvarijuma dodaje se reagens do promene boje iz crvene u zelenu. Sadrži dovoljno reagensa za merenje 420 stepeni tvrdoće. GH se može povećati upotrebom Sera Mineral Salt.
